The European trade show market is still – despite all discussions about economic slowdown and country crisis – the most important and most profitable region for international exhibitions. And you should try all to gain your personal share of this immense market potential.
Here are at first some facts from UFI: Globally there are approx. 31,000 exhibitions per year corresponding to 124 million sqm of total net exhibition space rented and where 4.4 million exhibiting companies welcomed 260 million visitors.
496 venues of worldwide 1,200 are located in Europe providing 15.6 million sqm of exhibition space (=48%). 12 of the 15 worldwide largest venues (> 200,000 sqm hall space) are located in Europe.
UFI has estimated that in 2012 European venues had 37% of the globally rented indoor space, North America 38% and Asia/Pacific 17%.
The increased value of the US-Dollar currency makes it even more attractive to exhibit in Europe. The share of Non-European exhibitors on European exhibitions has increased significantly the last 10 years and is still growing. There no detailed summarized data for total Europe available, but even only the German data for international exhibitions are very impressive:

But be careful! Not every international exhibition will provide your customer and yourself the same potential for profit. You must analyse those potential exhibitions carefully before making any suggestions to your existing exhibitors. You must support your clients at this point. And don’t trust the promises and published figures of the organizer sales teams. They primarily just want the exhibitor’s money and are not really caring about his profit and advantages!
