Fair grounds at Paris
Paris is by far the most important French exhibition city. For this reason it is not a big surprise to find three different fair grounds with international exhibitions within the city limits. Besides this there are seven additional smaller and middle sized event venues throughout Paris.
Fair ground Paris Nord -Villepinte
The Paris Nord-Villepinte venue is by far the largest and most modern one, located in the suburbs about 25 km outside of central Paris directly besides the International Airport Charles de Gaulle. Nine, mainly extremely large halls (7,000 to 47,000 sqm size) with a total covered space of 242,000 sqm. More detailed venue information you will find on the official Viparis website
The location outside of the city has advantages and disadvantages. On the positive side you will find enough available parking space during the set up periods, but in most cases not directly between the exhibition halls.
As public transport facilities you will find the RER regional trains and some local bus lines. The RER will bring you to the Charles de Gaulle airport close by and to Paris downtown (25 km away). I prefer to use my own car. You are much more flexible and can make use of close by lower cost hotel facilities and shopping areas (2 – 6 km away).
I’m personally not so much in favour of Villepinte, because the halls have gigantic dimensions and only very few gates get openend during the installation period (security reasons). If your stand location is in the wrong place you have to walk really long distances inside the halls.
There is one digital printing supplier DAPdécor with an onsite workshop available (Tel 01 188.8.131.52). They are very kind people, not so expensive and are located in a smaller building outside between hall 2 and 3. Communication may be become a bit complicated because they only speak French.
If you prefer a close-by hotel I suggest The Première Classe Hotel Roissy – Villepinte Parc des Expositions just 500 m away from the main venue entrance and RER train station.
